You've probably notice this. In fact, I'm sure you have.
With all the doom and gloom around, it's harder to be kind to other people. In fact, our natural inclination is to raise the draw bridge, lock the doors, and hold all of our resources to ourselves.?
I can't tell you how many couples I know that are fighting. They've run out of space, resources, and kindness ?for each other. I've heard the same thing among family members. People give up their sibling relationships as too hard.?
Diets attempts? Same thing.
Reaching goals? Forget it. Who can reach a dream in this economy?
Our personal economies are bankrupt.
This baby koala was abandoned by it's mother in the recent fire. A family saw the koala. Shaking in terror, the koala wouldn't have lasted the night. Rather than let this baby ?die, they put out a tub of water. The koala took a long drink, then got in the tub.?
It doesn't take much to save a life.?
In truth, most of us haven't been tossed from our houses. Most people I know still have food and jobs. Food supplies remain open and gas is relatively inexpensive. Water is virtually free. Our toilets flush away whatever we put in them.
So what is all this fuss about?
Fear. Fear that the unnamed horror will happen.
What's the antidote to fear?
Kindness.?
This week, even if you have to force yourself, do something kind for someone else. Accept an apology. Refrain from criticizing a loved one. Smile. Offer assistance to someone in need. Or give yourself the kindness of a nap.
Simply. Doable. Kind.
You can change your personal economy simply through kindness. The world, your world and mine, needs your kindness, more now than ever before. Just a little kindness goes a long way.
Try it.
