Resting today - and a few thoughts about life

At the desk, 8:36 a.m.

I had my first transforaminal cortisone shot yesterday afternoon. After twelve hours of 'Oh my God, I can't believe this is gone', the pain is back (as expected).

So I'm resting today and expect to be back tomorrow.

We planted the plum tree 3 falls ago.

We prune it and use organic products (and duct tape) to keep the ants from farming aphids on it.

And this year, a Robin decided to build a nest in the tree.

This is the best metaphor I can think of for life.

Plant the tree - expect and harvest the plums - and in return life will bring you something completely unexpected and wonderful.

Watch for it.
