Reading list 2015

This year, due to Rose's illness, I've spent most of my time listening to audiobooks rather than actually reading. I've become a huge fan.

Nonfiction:

--12 week year: Get More Done in 12 Weeks than Others Do in 12, Brian P. Moran | Life changing ideas.

--A Grief Observed, C.S. Lewis | Thoughtful, deeply moving, soothing in a time a great need.

--Adaptability, M.J. Ryan | Refresher on how to move forward when things feel unstable.

--The Art of Asking, Amanda Palmer |  Truly fabulous book. Must read for all authors. Audiobook is better than reading because it includes songs and other audio performances.

--The Big Leap, Gay Hendricks | Great ideas on what holds you back and how to make the big leap. Helpful in life and business

--Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, Tom Venuto | Perfect book at the right time (again).

--Elements of Eloquence, Mark Forsyth | As all books in this genre (writing books), this was about as dry as can be. Listened to audio in tiny bits which made it instructive and palatable.

--The Hard thing about Hard things | Memoir filled with lots of bragging. Not sure what message was.

--Knowing your Value, Mika Brzezinki | Engaging ideas. Definitely worth listening to.

--Made to Stick, Chip and Dan Heath | Truly a must read for everyone trying to connect with people

--The Magic of Reality, Richard Dawkins | Fascinating look at how we know what is real.

--Stories I tell my friends, Rob Lowe | I know the time, I know the place, I know the people - which makes this all the more compelling.

--What if?, Randall Munroe| Weird in all kinds of awesome ways.

-- When it's your turn (It's always your turn), Seth Godin | Another amazing book by the master.

--Wishes Fulfilled, Wayne Dyer | Rehash of a lot of ideas. Hadn't read him before and wanted to see what he had to say. Would probably prefer an deeper or more coherent book.

Fiction:

--Death on the Nile, Agatha Christie | Short and masterfully told. Brushing up on skills.

--The Girl with All the Gifts, M.R. Carey | Heartbreaking - too much for me in such a difficult year - and still a fabulous story.

--Fat Chance, Nick Spaulding | Laugh out loud funny. Best audiobook for a long ride.
