Unconscious Mutterings : Week 354

This last week, I’ve been getting up early to write. Some days, I’ve gotten a lot done. Other days, I stare at the blank screen. Overall, it’s been a very good thing.

The nicest thing about getting up early is seeing the amazing sunrises. This mornings was pink and magenta with dramatics shadows of maroon. That’s inspiring.

I am also inspired by Unconscious Mutterings. I look forward to them during the week. I read through each comment when they come in. The diversity and sameness inspires me in the way that we are diverse and the same.

I have decided to keep with my Claudia’s grab-bag give away. I believe I know each of you well enough to have some idea what might interest you. (Insert evil laugh) I’m going to be working on this next week. We’ll see how it goes…. Last week’s winner? Karin from Popping Bubbles!

How do you play? Simply answer the word prompts (created by the lovely and talented Pea at LunaNina) in the comments section.  Each week, I select a winner using Random.org. Please do play. It’s fun, easy and really a great way to end or start your week.

  4. Puppies ::
  5. Honor ::

    Ms. Claudia, I'll answer your question about late blight here. Folks in the northeast shouldn't have to worry about it overwintering in the soil because of the cold. From what I've researched, blight cannot survive the cold temperatures of northeastern winters. However, should a infected tuber (potato) or fruit (tomato) that's not been discovered be left buried in the soil, there is a chance of blight surviving within. Also, if you've discarded infected plants in the compost pile, chances are good blight will remain active in the warmth found there. I've also heard it said that no one is positive about what may happen in 2010 until the growing season is in full swing.
