"If you're not prepared to be wrong….

“If you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original.”

–Sir Ken Robinson.

I saw this video on Craig Harper’s blog and wanted to post it for you. I laughed out loud, more than once, watching this piece. Sir. Ken Robinson is funny, brilliant really.? This talk is about creativity, in children, but moreover in our world, the creativity that lives within each of us.

But then I told myself you wouldn’t have time to watch it. This video is almost 20 minutes long!

I woke this morning deciding to give you the option.

This is a fabulous video. If you are involved in any creative endeavor, I’m certain you will feel fired up to continue to pursue your dream.? If you have children, it’s really a must see video.? If you are a teacher, you will particularly enjoy this.

Enjoy!

Thanks…you have no idea how much I needed to hear that. And yep, I listened to the whole thing. Now I need to dance for a while.

Thank you so much for this link! I?ve watched the video twice this morning and am about to view it a 3rd time (after I get coffee and fix a bowl of cereal with fruit ? before I give any thought to what I might publish for T-13 even though it?s Thursday). This man speaks to my heart & soul ? reminding why I became a teacher in the mid-1960s and why I retired in 2001 ? frustrated (to the core of my being) with the educational ?system? in California after watching it turn away from amazing potential in the mid-1980s to meaningless ?test-driven? curriculum in the 1990s. I’ve been dancing ever since ;–)
    Hugs and blessings,

Ahhhh…truth. There are so many parts of that I would like to mention, but the one that stands out is the doctor who diagnosed the girl as a dancer. The whole ADHD debate is so close to home here with 3 boys who couldn’t sit still if you put a ton of bricks on their lap. I don’t think my boys are wired that way. This is one reason that traditional school doesn’t work for my kids. Thankfully we have found something that does work (1/2 Classical Education, 1/2 home school). My heart just screams for all those children who weren’t diagnosed dancers and ended up with a creative squash instead…

I am emailing this to my entire homeschool group. There are many dancers among them…

he’s smart and funny!! makes me also think of how often my mom told me to be a lawyer, nurse or teacher, so I’d always have a job!! LOL…good thing for me I’m stubborn enough to have flat out refused!! I also had some amazing teachers that really did things differently…
